Introducing: Woolf And The Wondershow ‘Cages’

Just over a month ago I came across LA-based indie duo Woolf And The Wondershow‘s debut single “Cloaked, a fun, bouncy electro production about lost hope and the walls we build because of it. Deep subject matter set to a sunny, summery track? YASSSS; It’s a mix I am frequently drawn to – vulnerability-infused pop music. And it seems like a rising trend considering recent singles from Adam Lambert, Years & Years, and Foxes.

Woolf And The Wondershow certainly caught my attention along with the rest of the blogosphere – over 100,000 plays on Soundcloud – with their viral debut, but I decided to hold off to see what was next. And that’s where ‘Cages‘ comes in. A darker production that really excels at creating a moody ambiance with it’s dramatic blend of strings and sap that is interrupted by a sudden burst of electronica. And as far as vocals go, I’m not sure whether it’s Woolf or The Wondershow singing on “Cages,” but we hear him transitioning in and out of a gorgeous falsetto atop all of this beautiful drama. It’s truly magical.

Cages” is a perfect, semi-chill companion to the bright and upbeat “Cloaked”. I’m so down for whatever they bring next – GET FAMILIAR NOW!
