‘No Sleeep': The Return Of Janet Jackson!

So unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past three months then you probably didn’t see this coming. The Return Of Janet Jackson – Miss Jackson if you’re nasty! After years of gossip, teasing, and subtle hints, the legendary icon has, indeed, returned to us with the announcement a world tour, and now, the premiere of her first song in five years, “No Sleep“!

The track, produced and written alongside her longtime collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, is a romantic slow burner that builds and builds across a silky smooth beat and Janet‘s signature seductive croons. “You missing me /I’m missing you /Whenever we meet, we ain’t gonna get no sleep,” she sings on top of the deep pulsations. It’s classic Janet modernized with a sleek R&B gloss, like a 2015 “That’s The Way Love Goes.” I’m totally here for it. With that said, I don’t really see “No Sleeep” being a big “radio hit” at all but at least one thing is confirmed: Janet is still capable of turning out a solid late night bedroom jam. Looking forward to what else she has in store for us! Long live the queen!
