Carly Rae Jepsen Gets Weird On ‘E·MO·TION’ Standout ‘Warm Blood’!

Following the release of “I Really Like You,” the dreamy Dev Hynes-produced “All That,” the sugary-sweet title track and the free-of-flaws “Run Away With Me,” forever underrated pop quen Carly Rae Jepsen has decided to reveal “Warm Blood,” another amazing new cut off her upcoming album, E·MO·TION!

The track, which was crafted alongside Vampire Weekend‘s Rostam Batmanglij, isn’t exactly the bubbly pop bop you’d come to expect from little Miss Jepsen‘s mouth. It’s actually the complete opposite. This is slow-building electro-pop greatness colored with slightly creepy/moody undertones and deranged vocal work. “Warm blood feels good, I can’t control it anymore/ Sweet one, you should stop me there but I keep on talking/ I would throw in the towel for you, boy / Cause you lift me up and catch me when I’m falling for you,” she softly whispers across the waves and waves of synthesizers.

Those of you sick of her typical Top 40 radio bait should warm up to the experimental production quite quickly. It’s downright thrilling in the strangest of ways, especially as she delivers that chill-inducing bridge. “Warm blood, underneath my skin/ Warm blood, my heart is pumping.”

CARLY RAE JEPSEN. STAY SLAYING ALL MY FAVES FOREVER PLEASE <3
