British duo Hurts return to what they do best with the premiere of “Rolling Stone,” their official “Some Kind Of Heaven” follow-up off their upcoming third studio album Surrender (due out October 9th).
Much like the stuff of their debut Happiness, “Rolling Stone” relishes in a dark chill of haunting ambient moodiness and cinematic stings. Yet once the chorus rolls in, it’s clear that the duo are sticking with the darker, more live instrument-heavy soundscape we heard on their sophomore LP Exile. “She said her daddy was an alcoholic/ And her mother was an animal/ Now she’s living like a rolling stone/ She said that the lord will never take her alive/ If you take her home,” Theo cries out against explosions of crashing drums and searing guitar breakdowns. The song’s final few, menacing moments alone reach nearly demonic-like heights. So scary good it Hurts (see what I did there) – Get into it!
Pre-order Hurts’ third studio album Surrender on iTunes UK and receive “Rolling Stone” now!
