Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique Release ‘Love Is Free’ EP – Get Into It!

Love Is Free, the new mini-album from Robyn and her new collaborative project La Bagatelle Magique, is officially out today (August 7) via Konichiwa Records/Cherrytree/Interscope. The five-track collection follows 2014’s joint EP with Röyksopp, Do It Again, and serves as the debut release for La Bagetelle Magique, which is comprised of her touring keyboardist Markus Jägerstedt and late producer Christian Falk.

Alongside the two tracks we’ve already heard – the title track and “Set Me Free” — is the thumping opening number “Lose Control“, the ’80’s freestyle-flavored “Got To Work It Out“, and the amped up house rendition of “Tell You (Today)” by Arthur Russell. Notice the theme here? Looking at the titles it’s clear from start to finish that Robyn and La Bagatelle Magique aren’t trying to push major boundaries here. Love Is Free is simply five fantastic dance tracks crafted beautifully to inspire liberation. Now let go and be free my children!

“I don’t know how to talk about this without getting super personal. When it came to this letting go thing, I think, isn’t that what we all want? To somehow be okay with being alive, even though it’s really hard? And not being scared,” Robyn told FACT. “I mean, you can be scared, but it’s not good if you’re scared of being scared, and trying to control things. It’s an illusion – you can’t. You have to let go in order to be happy.”
